Realtors Continue Moving to the Web in a Big Way!

Categories: Real Estate, Trends omuoto @ 9:16 pm

The numbers continue to grow. A couple of months ago, Classified Intelligence published a 74-page report entitled “Real Estate Advertising 2006″ and made this important point in their survey:

More than half the real estate agents (51 percent) who participated in a Classified Intelligence survey said they were advertising on free classified sites, and many said they plan to cut their newspaper advertising because it is no longer necessary.

This all makes absolute sense since Realtors are simply following consumers online, 77% of whom (according to the National Association of Realtors) begin their search on the Internet! In fact consumers are beginning to pick homes, before they pick Realtors.

Although we are a horizonal platform aim at both consumers and small businesses, vFlyer is dedicated to building out  vertical offerings that sit on its robust and flexible framework. To that end, vFlyer is very much about accelerating this move to the web for Realtors, who are becoming more and more dependent on free online classified ads to get the word out.

We have been working closely with real estate professionals for the past month on a new set of enhanced features to meet their branding, marketing and legal requirements and make vFlyer a truely power real estate marketing solution. We are announcing many of those enhancements tommorrow, and we’ll dive into more detail on some of this new functionality in future blog posts. Stay tuned and keep selling!

  2. Your point about agents reducing their spending on print media is well taken. In my case, I spend approximately $25/month for flyers and magazines, and a lopsided $300/month on advertising campaigns through adwords and overture (Yahoo). For the moment, I’ve gotten a jump on other agents in my area, but I don’t think it will be long before I have competition online.
