Event Round Up for the Week

Tradeshows1
This week was an especially busy one for us at vFlyer. The entire team was scurrying to put finishing touches on our upcoming new release - which is just around the corner, we also got invited to a number of early stage company technology events including the Red Herring 100 Celebration Cocktail at the Crown Plaza in Palo Alto on Monday, as well as Dow Jones WebVentures in San Mateo on Tuesday. We had to good fortune of running into into many of our friends and partners at both events. At the Red Herring event I ran into Pete Flint of Trulia and Craig Donato of Oodle, two of vFlyer partners as well as John Helm of MyNewPlace. At the Dow Jones event we caught up with Keith Teare of Edgeio, another great vFlyer partner, as well as Ed Anuff of WidgetBox who was presenting at the show.

I was also invited to speak on a panel (Media 2.0: How Web 2.0 is Transforming Traditional Media) at the upcoming Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco (April 15–18). The panel, which is moderated by Charlene Li (Forrester Research) also includes Gabe Rivera of TechMeme, Ted Shelton of The Personal Bee, and Rich Skrenta of Topix. I invite all of our vFlyer customers, fans or friends to stop by and say hi if you are going to be at the show.

Online Help and Resources - Wiki Style

Categories: News omuoto @ 11:34 am

Vflyer_wiki
Some of you have noticed that last week we added the
vFlyer Wiki to our list of online help and support resources. In addition to email support and real-time online help, the vFlyer Wiki is designed to provide you with comprehensive help on making the most of our service! If you have any questions on how to use vFlyer, be sure to check the wiki first!

Some of you are familiar with Wikipedia. If you don’t know what a Wiki is, read our wiki definition. Other “pioneers” have launched Wiki projects that you may be interested in. Many Wiki provide general industry information. Inman and Zillow have real estate wikis, SmallBusiness.com and BYU have business wikis. Other Wiki, like ours, focus on providing help and support. eBay and Meebo are excellent examples of how wikis can be used in this way.

If you are a vFlyer expert or even a vFlyer novice and would like to be a contributor to our wiki project, let us know!

Categories: Features omuoto @ 10:22 am

Social bookmarking is yet another way to promote your gallery and your vFlyer listings. Sites like del.icio.us, Digg,  Technorati, and Furl allow you to store, classify, share and search bookmarks. The new bookmarking feature (which came out in last night’s release) allows you to promote your links quickly and easily on some of the leading social bookmarking sites. You can access social bookmarks from the Post Flyer section of a published flyer.
