Click-to-Call and vFlyers are a natural fit! A couple of new (and free) services make Click-to-Call relatively easy, affordable and best of all - easily integrated with your flyer! So what is Click-to-Call? In my definition, Click-to-Call is any service that allows callers to initiative a phone call using the web. Usually these services provide callers with a link and/or a widget that prompts them to enter their own phone number and then proceeds to connect them with the person or business they are trying to call by calling both parties and connecting them (See example).

In general, click-to-call services (depending on the service) can potentially have the following benefits:

• They make it easier for people to reach you by phone
  The fastest way to get to “most” people is by phone. In my experience, people online find it easier to click, then to pick up the phone and call. Click-to-call “eases” the transitions from online to phone line
  BENEFIT TO SELLER: More potential leads, faster response time
• They reduce or eliminate the cost of the phone call for the caller
  Because most click-to-call services essentially “call you back”, the incoming calls is usually free if it is made to a land line (also some mobile plans also have reduced fees for incoming calls). This also makes it easier and less expensive for international buyers to contact you.
  BENEFIT TO SELLER: More potential leads, better “customer service”
• They provide alternative communication options in addition to voice
  In addition to placing a call, some click-to-call services allow you to leave a voicemail message, send email or text message the seller.
  BENEFIT TO SELLER: More potential leads, less interruptions and wasted time
• They allow you to receive phone calls without giving out your private number
  Some people don’t like to give their phone number out, especially their cellphone or home numbers. Obviously if you are selling homes or cars, you are probably less concerned, but when renting an apartment on Craigslist or selling items on eBay – you may not want to give your number to complete strangers. Click-to-Call services allow you to receive calls anonymously, most allow callers to leave a message as well (think free voicemail).
  BENEFIT TO SELLER: Less wasted time (on the phone), more security

Using Click-to-Call with your Flyer

1. First you need to sign-up for one of the free (or paid) Click-to-Call services such as Jaxtr or Jangl (Doesn’t do Click-to-Call but provides anonymous numbers)
2. Next you will need to activate your phone number (confirm that it’s yours) and validate your email address
3. Next find your Click-to-Call link. For more information on how to find your link visit our Support Wiki
4. Once you have your link (it looks something like this: http://www.jaxtr.com/omuoto) simply add it to your flyer in the LINKS section. Make sure the label you give the link conveys a call to action such as “Call Me” or “Click Here to Call”

There are certain selling situations that lend themselves more to using Click-to-Call service as well as other ways you can use the service.

• You can use a Click-to-Call widget on your blog so people can contact you (See example)
• When selling consumer items on sites like Craigslist or in other situation where you don’t want to list your mobile or home number but want people to contact you, Click-to-Call makes sense.
• If you prefer to access your communications via the web (such as voicemails or text message) or want a report of incoming all communication, then Click-to-Call services can provide that.
