Happy Friday everybody! Today we’re featuring an aerodynamic custom theme from Bend Oregon, home of Leading Edge Aviation. For the past 20 years, Leading Edge has specialized in upgrading avionic systems in planes and helicopters. Our design team followed the look of Leading Edge’s website to create a spiffy new Custom Theme:

This particular flyer advertises their specialized mechanical expertise, but Leading Edge is involved in all things flight in Central Oregon—flight training, aircraft sales, and more. A quick look at their blog will show you the smiling faces of dozens of successful new pilots.

We can’t say with certainty that this is the world’s first avionics services vFlyer, but we definitely hope it’s not the last. Thanks to Leading Edge for a great custom theme, and happy flying!

Greetings friends! Our custom theme of the week is the epitome of class. It comes to us from Nick McLean, REALTOR in Chelan, Washington, and it’s a beauty. Nick has a wonderful website and he incorporates the branding and design from the site nicely into his vFlyer theme. The look is minimalist but, given that, he manages to include his logo, name, phone number, fax number, and website address all in his branded header! That’s some A+ design work.

Kudos, Nick, and thanks for making your vFlyer content look great!

Enjoy the weekend and we’ll be back with another featured custom theme next week. If you’ve created a custom theme you’re especially proud of, let us know!

As much of the Midwest and East Coast slog through an oppressively hot and humid week, what could be a more fitting custom theme of the week honoree than an A/C repair service? This week’s custom theme is from Same Day AC Service in Palm Harbor, Florida. I love the simplicity of their theme, with the logo in the header and a thoughtful color palate to match. It’s a good reminder that a quality custom theme need not be complicated or fancy.

The content of Same Day AC Repairs’ flyer is also excellent. They include a thorough description of their service, a testimonial from a customer, and a link to their website, and they display their phone number prominently.

Kudos to you, Same Day AC Repair! Thanks for helping us keep cool during this very hot July.

Everybody seems to be going green these days, and vFlyer users are no exception. In the past we’ve featured a green car company, and today we have a custom theme from the self-proclaimed first ever eco-friendly real estate and property management firm: eGreen Realty.

This has to be one of my all-time favorite custom themes, thanks to the sharp header image and the very lively background. The header image comes straight from eGreen’s excellent website, cleanly displaying the company brand and logo on a light page background. The rest of the theme is simple black-on-white, with a touch of dark green accents for the title sections.

The background image looks like the type of pattern you might find on the walls of grandma’s house, but the fresh colors lend a modern feel to the whole affair. And as with any good advertisement, this flyer is chock-full of professional photographs showing off the property in its best light.

Speaking of the listing photos, can anybody spot the famous movie character voiced by Tom Hanks in this flyer? He appears in three of the images, and he’s wearing a hat. View the full flyer, and all of its photos, here: http://ryanhanson.vflyer.com/home/flyer/home/47284001

Thanks to eGreen Realty for a top-notch custom theme!

Today’s custom theme comes to us from Tork Motorsports of San Diego, California. In one of the world’s best motorcycle towns, Tork Motorsports offers bikes for all sorts of riding, from high-powered Japanese sports bikes to roaring Harleys.

Using their website as a model, Tork Motors put together a really slick custom theme:

As is the case with most web design, the background really makes the look of this site. But finding a background image that tiles seamlessly can be quite a challenge. Here, the machined metal background from the Tork Motors website is carried straight over to the vFlyer Theme Editor, and used to great effect.

The header image is a simple banner with the website address and Tork’s logo tilted just slightly inward, adding some interest to the flyer’s header. Throw in a full set of well-lit bike shots, and you’ve got a visual experience that’s bound to appeal to motorcycle junkies everywhere. Nicely done!

Recently we received the following question on our Facebook Page: “Someone told me that your product vFlyer was great with Craigslist. Is this true?”

Needless to say, this sort of question is music to our ears, but how best to answer it? A simple “yup it’s true!” would certainly suffice, but would it demonstrate why our product is great with Craigslist, or allow the inquiring Facebooker to see for herself?

Perhaps not, so today I thought we’d feature an ad that shows why our product is great with Craigslist, and makes us here at vFlyer very proud indeed. RentOne is an apartment and commercial leasing company that markets properties in Sacramento and the Bay Area. They’ve used vFlyer for a few years now, and have obviously continued to improve their theming skills. Yesterday we stumbled upon one of their latest creations in the SF Bay area’s “office & commercial” Craigslist index.

Popping off the page is a super-sized high-res image of the property, shot on an appealing sunny morning after what I picture as a night of gentle rainfall, (or just a recent cycle of automatic sprinklers). This Craigslist layout, one of ten available to our business subscribers, is called “showcase”, and, like all the additional layouts, is made possible by the use of a custom theme.

Let’s break this baby down: The header image sets the property name and address against a shining metallic blue background. Notice how the header’s shine is focused in the center, then fades to a dark blue on either side. This dark blue is perfectly matched by the page background, creating the illusion of a seamless frame – not the appearance of a separate header tacked on top of the flyer. A marbled background image that tiles smoothly to fill the entire length of the ad elegantly ties the whole flyer together. From there, a nice set of listing photos, including a simple floor plan, do the work.

The “office & commercial” category is home to some of the blandest ads on Craigslist, but this flyer, thanks to a simple yet professional custom theme, is far from boring, and truly stands out from the competition. And that’s why our product is great on Craigslist.

Today’s Custom theme is a great example of the vFlyer design team working with a user to create a personal brand. Matt Zammar is a Real Estate agent based in Kansas City. Matt’s brokerage is Coldwell Banker, John Moffitt & Associates, and he’s set up a really slick website on their platform. Besides Matt’s photo, however, the site is rather impersonal – when requesting a vFlyer Custom Theme, Matt wanted something more unique.

Through a phone-call with a member of our design team, Matt laid out some content he wanted included in the theme – his brokerage logo, his contact info, and his slogan: “Go ahead, I’m listening… More than buying and selling homes.”. For colors, Matt referenced his brokerage website that sports the blue and black of Coldwell Banker.

Our design team took it from there – developing a logo-like display of Matt’s name, breaking the slogan into two overlapping speech bubbles, and carrying through the blues from Matt’s website. The theme was rounded out with a simple black, white, and gray scheme. The result, I think, is quite pleasing – and a testament to the power of creativity and collaboration. Matt’s flyers now have a unique, professional look, and a brand that truly reflects his business.

If you’re looking to brand your business better, our design team can help. Many thanks to Matt for the great theme, and until next week, happy theming!

Nestled between a curve of the Willamette River and the West Hills of Portland lies a truly unique urban space. Once a mess of industrial yards and warehouses, The Pearl is now a renowned arts district and a model of urban renewal. The Pearl owes its name to the hundreds of artist studios and galleries hidden inside old, worn warehouses – like gleaming pearls within crusty oysters. After 20 years of carefully planned development, The Pearl is Portland’s crown jewel, and the home of this week’s custom theme.

The Pearl District PMG is a full-service property management firm specializing in the unique real estate environment of The Pearl. Their custom theme incorporates the logo and light-green color scheme from their website into a simple, clean header.

It’s hard to imagine a more exciting place to manage properties than Portland’s Pearl, a place that has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years. The neighborhood is home to Portland’s main Post Office, Powell’s City of Books, the Brewery Blocks, and much more. As always, we’re proud to see our flyers and widgets used to market special places around the country like The Pearl.

With the vFlyer Theme Editor, it’s easy to upload holiday-themed background images and customize the colors to give your flyers a “seasonal” look.

vFlyer’s branding capabilities allow users to showcase their brand on their flyers and brand all of their online marketing content consistently. Many users take advantage of the Theme Editor to create their own branded themes (we’ve highlighted many of these on this blog), but a growing number of users are hiring a web designer to create great-looking custom themes for them. This week, we’re highlighting a custom theme created for Realtor Nancy Rondeau of Whitby, Ontario by web designer Cherie Young. For Nancy’s custom theme, Cherie incorporated the look and content of Nancy’s website (including the header and the background wallpaper, a lovely crimson design) and applied it to the vFlyer format. The result is a striking yet sophisticated custom theme that corresponds nicely to the elegant homes that Nancy advertises.

Having great-looking web content and appealing, recognizable branding is essential for establishing a strong web presence and driving leads these days. Bringing on an experienced designer like Cherie to design and create a website for you, in addition to a vFlyer custom theme to match, is a great way to accomplish this. If you’re interested, talk to friends and associates to see if they can refer any designers to you, or check classifieds sites like Craigslist for web designers. Or drop Cherie a line!
